Today, our member growers farm across a diverse patchwork of vineyards, from warmer valley floors to cooler, elevated mountain slopes. Differences in soil, altitude and microclimate give us an extraordinary range of fruit to work with, and the opportunity to capture the character of Montagu in every wine we make.
While our cellar is one of the largest producers in the Klein Karoo, our own bottled wines are made on a deliberately boutique scale. Each vintage, we seek out vineyards and individual blocks that show something special, creating wines that reflect the diversity of the land and the people who farm it.

A Heritage of Muscadel
A Montagu tradition we are proud to continue.
Muscadel has played a defining role in the history of Montagu Winery.
Generations of winemakers have worked with Muscat grapes grown across the district, producing the rich, expressive sweet wines for which the cellar became renowned.
Today, we continue that tradition while allowing the diversity of our vineyards to bring different expressions of Muscat to life.
